Frame Relay

Rtr is DTE connecting to Frame Relay switch (DCE) or FRAD (Frame Relay Access Device)
SVC possible, but most implementations use PVCs
Encapsulation - Cisco propietary or RFC2427 (encapsulation frame-relay ietf)
CIR - Committed information Rate
LMI - enhancements to original frame relay spec. Keep-alive mechanism between rtr (DTE) and FRAD (DCE). Autosensed on IOS 11.2 or higher.
DLCI - IDs virtual circuits (frame-relay interface-dlci #). Inverse ARP matches DLCI to IP of other side.
FECNs & BECNs - set if switch is experiencing congestion. Influences what is thrown away down stream.
